Mickey 17 Review
Hey everyone, as promised, we’re back with some diversified blog content. A couple weeks ago, I checked out Bong Joon Ho’s new Sci-fi release, Mickey 17. Being a Sci-fi writer, I wanted to pen some thoughts on the film!
THE COLD.
THE COLD is a short story exploring companionship, comfort and mortality, as an unprecedented storm hits a nigh-deserted research outpost in Antarctica. Our two protagonists begin the story as strangers, but end it… as something much more. Warning…this one gets emotional.
THE VOID.
Introducing my debut short story, THE VOID.
THE VOID is a dark satirical short story set in a faraway space station, where our protagonist - a lifelong criminal - has been sentenced to a life of servitude and solitude.
8. Blog Announcement
It’s been close to nine months since I began working seriously on this project, and I’m excited to say I’m on track to meet my original goal of completing the second draft by the end of February 2025.

7. Why Sci-Fi?
Whenever I have the joy of discussing my novel with an interested party, one of the first questions I receive is “what drew you to writing Sci-Fi?”
6. A First Glimpse…

We all have times where we need to knuckle down and complete those focus-driven tasks, but what is it that pushes us out of the procrastination phase into actual… action?
4. On Writing
“I don’t think there is a single “hardest part” of writing for me. To be honest, sometimes it’s all hard… Sometimes, entire days go by where I feel the words are not flowing, but falling clumsily astray, piling on the page like an upended box of toys. But the best advice I ever received was…”
3. Inspiration - Part 1
“If we are to create, we must be inspired. But from where can we draw inspiration when our attention is always so divided, and our minds always so weary? I lack the profoundness to answer this question, but I would like to talk a little about some of the creative influences behind my Sci-Fi-Horror-Adventure novel. (On a side note, stay tuned for the end of the article, where I’ll now include regular updates of my novel’s progression!)…”
2. A Little About Me
“Hi again! Welcome to Part 2, the follow up.
Firstly, I’d just like to thank everybody so much for following, liking and clicking. On numbers alone, the response to the site launch was double what I tentatively hoped for…”
1. What the Hell am I Doing?
“What the Hell am I doing? It’s the question that has pummelled its way to the forefront of my mind more than any other. So, you fancy writing a novel…”
